Fibre fusion and protection

Stripped, cleaved, clean fibres are being placed in the splicing machine in the V-groove chucks. Fibres alignment is being done automatically by the unit.

Once it’s done, the fusion process initiates. Here fibres ends are being heated up to optimum temperature by burst of arc current, which allows to soften the joining fibre ends during fusion. Thus, fibres melt together upon physical contact.

After splicing, sleeve is being shifted to the splicing joint and placed into the heating camera, where sleeve heat shrink occurs.

Completed splice assembly will be secured into the splice organiser.
